The African American Legacy Fund (AALF), an initiative of the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, has a vision of what Southern Arizona can be when we bring together people, money, and goodwill to make sure all our children, youth, and families have the opportunities and resources to prosper. AALF grants are designed to provide unrestricted operating support to provide flexible working capital and maximize the impact of nonprofits’ missions.

The African American Legacy Fund has created a new one-time, off-cycle Rapid Response Grant in 2026 to provide urgent funding for nonprofits with priority given to those not previously funded. AALF is committed to investing in organizations and leaders doing critical work in our communities and recognizes the need to respond to urgent community needs, while honoring impact, integrity, and accountability.

Applications for AALF Rapid Response grants will be open April 14 – May 15, 2026. Hit the button below to learn more about the application process.
