The Center is a place for connection, collaboration, growth, and reflection, a space where relationships are built, ideas are tested, and leaders learn from one another. More than a place to develop new skills, it is a place to imagine what is possible and work together to create it. By looking beyond today's challenges, we help shape a stronger, healthier, and more resilient nonprofit ecosystem for the future.
Built Through Community
Founded in 2019 at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, the Center was the brainchild of visionary nonprofit executive Paula Van Ness. The Connie Hillman Family Foundation was the first to join CFSA in supporting the making of this vision a reality. We are so grateful to the Connie Hillman Family Foundation for its long-term support, which resulted in the creation of an invaluable community resource.
It’s really about CFSA and their willingness to be bold and different. There are a lot of groups similar to theirs throughout this nation that would really just push forward doing the same old same old, but, [CFSA is] courageous. They’re transformational, they’re a disruptor. That rises from the top, their board, their President and CEO, and the staff that they have, which is just so amazing. Without them being willing to BE that, they couldn’t show us that.
