The Rosa Louise Parks Scholarship was established in partnership with the Tucson Human Relations Commission to honor the legacy of Rosa Parks and her commitment to education, equality, and opportunity. During Mrs. Parks’ visit to Tucson in 1990, the Commission approached her about establishing a scholarship fund at CFSA in her honor. She supported the effort as part of her lifelong dedication to promoting understanding, respect, and cooperation among all people.
Rosa Parks believed education was essential to creating opportunity and wanted young people's education to be part of her legacy. The scholarship provides financial support to Southern Arizona students who demonstrate financial need and the potential for academic success in college.
Scholarships are offered for one academic year. Recipients may reapply for up to four years of funding. Renewal of the scholarship is not guaranteed.
