Founded in 2013 by esteemed educator, philanthropist, and civic leader Dr. Anna Jolivet, Ph.D., the African American Legacy Fund (AALF) is a fund held at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona.

AALF envisions a vibrant and equitable region where Black and African Americans have the opportunities and resources to prosper.

AALF works to improve the quality of life for Black and African Americans in Southern Arizona through regional philanthropic grant-making, leadership development, and fostering grantee connections to better serve and support the Black and African American community.

AALF grants offer two years of unrestricted support to help nonprofits maximize their impact. The next grant round will open in early 2027.
